The following are just a few of the cases that we have successfully defended. Names have been omitted and replaced with initials to protect our clients’ privacy. The full text of these decisions which are available in the public domain are available upon request.

TRIALS

R. v. C.P. (British Columbia Provincial Court)
Our clients house was searched and drugs and a gun found. At trial we argued that the search warrant was defective. The court agreed and all the evidence seized was excluded from the trial. Our client was acquitted.

R. v. B.N (British Columbia Provincial Court)
Our clients house was searched and a marijuana grow operation was found. We argued that the search warrant was defective. The court agreed and all the evidence from the search was excluded. Our client was acquitted.

R. v. P.B. (British Columbia Supreme Court)
Our client was charged with attempt murder. He was acquitted after five days of trial.

R. v. Z.N.C., (British Columbia Provincial Court)
Our client was charged with assault. After trial he was found not guilty.

R. v. S.A. (British Columbia Supreme Court)
Our client was charged with first degree murder of one person and aggravated assault of another. After extensive negotiations with the prosecution, the charge of first degree murder was dropped and client pled guilty of aggravated assault and was sentenced to three years of prison.

R. v. C.S. (British Columbia Supreme Court)
Our client was charged with being the driver in a drive by shooting. We led evidence to show that he was forced to be the driver by the actual shooter who threatened to shoot him if he did not drive. The jury found him not guilty.

R. v. B.M. (British Columbia Provincial Court)
Our client was charged with trafficking in drugs after being arrested with a briefcase that contained drugs. After a trial he was found not guilty.

APPEALS

R. v. D.M., (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
At trial, client was found guilty of murder. Our firm successfully represented the client in his appeal and the Court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial.

R. v. R.D., (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
Client was convicted of possessing a prohibited weapon at trial. Our firm successfully represented the client in his appeal and the Court overturned his conviction and acquitted the client on all charges.

R. v. T.S., (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
Client was convicted of second degree murder at trial. Our firm successfully represented the client in his appeal. The Court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial.

R. v. N.S., (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
We successfully appealed the client’s sentence for unlawful confinement, robbery and assault. The Court of Appeal substituted a lesser sentence than that originally imposed by the trial judge.

R. v. B.D. (British Columbia Supreme Court)
We successfully appealed the client’s sentence in an assault case.

R. v. B.A. (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
We successfully appealed the client’s conviction in an assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm case. The Court ordered a new trial.

R. v. J.K. (British Columbia Court of Appeal)
We successfully appealed the client’s conviction for robbery and the Court substituted a verdict of theft and imposed a sentence of time already served.
